Heavy Duty Mechanic

Applicant Requirments

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (preferred) or Automotive Mechanic certification;
• Own Hand Tools;
• Experience working with commercial vehicles;
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills;
• Standard First Aid; H2S Alive and Common Safety Orientation certificates are an asset.
• Minimum of a current Canadian Class 5 Driver's License;
• A current Canadian Class 1 or 3 is an asset;
• Applicant must be able to pass post offer drug and alcohol screening.

Job Responsibilities:

• The Mechanic works an 8 hour day shift, Monday through Friday with some overtime as required. This position is not confined to shop activities, as there may be a requirement from time to time to perform work in the field. This position reports to the JD&C Services Maintenance Supervisor.
• Repair, rebuild, overhaul and perform routine maintenance work on commercial vehicles;
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment;
• Perform repair work on medium and heavy duty single, double and tri axle trucks and trailers;
• Respond to breakdowns to troubleshoot and complete any repairs or installations needed;
• Work with outside contractors and service providers as required for additional maintenance;
• Complete and manage all maintenance paperwork within the organization.
